Systems approach, understanding and describing the operation of systems and methods of controlling them are among the basic knowledge of engineering education. But understanding the main principles is important for everyone.

Control engineering deals with the description of systems providing their models, discusses several control methods and their design. Implementation issues are also important. Control systems are based mainly on negative feedback.

The basic course discusses the methods of modelling and design of continuous and discrete linear deterministic control systems. Nowadays, analysing and design of discrete control systems is of increasing importance, since computer control of industrial processes can be discussed with these methods.

The website contains 8 lectures that can be used in the basic control course in ppt format. Worked examples are provided for each presentation.
